Smart gadgets or "live" security?

In the mass media there have been repeatedly statements of some "experts" who think that the use of technical means of protection will not only reduce significantly the number of offenses and save some budget, but also reduce significantly the number of conflict situations, because the panic alarm button will not be rude, dismiss his hands and exceed the powers... It’s not like ill-mannered security guards who, as often happens, are not the guards at all.

Here, Chairman of the Moscow city Duma Committee on security, Inna Svyatenko, noted that representatives of a private security company have so little legal power, that, possibly, panic alarm buttons are needed to be set instead of them really, which will be available for... customers (!).

The conversation about replacing the guards, and in some ways controllers, by panic alarm buttons and silent video surveillance cameras is being held more than a month. In November, the initiative will be considered in the Moscow city Duma. Today it is decided to launch a pilot project in one district of the capital, and if it is a success, it will be caught up in other areas of Moscow, as well as St. Petersburg.

It is also assumed that panic alarm buttons, the price of which depends on complexity of the device, will be bought by educational institutions of both cities. Also, students will be given specially designed bracelets with the function of emergency contact through the GPS.

According to Ombudsman for children's rights in Moscow, Evgeny Bunevich, bracelets will play the role of an additional emergency channel. Bunevich thinks that the very presence of the useful accessory can scare off a potential criminal. The bracelets are supposed to be distributed through schools. The cost of the "gadgets" is still unknown, but Bunevich noted that low-income families will receive government subsidies to purchase them.
