VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE ACADEMY OF SECURITY PROBLEMS, DEFENCE AND LEGAL ORDER A.V.KORZHAKOV MET WITH VETERANS OF THE STATE SECURITY SERVICE, THE MIA AND FSS OF RUSSIA, SCIENTISTS, HEADS OF PRIVATE SECURITY STRUCTURES OF N. NOVGOROD REGION IN THE MAIN OF

Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov – Deputy of the State Duma of the 1997 – 2011 convocations, Vice-President of the Academy of security problems, defence and legal order, chevalier of  the order “For personal courage”, medals “For perfect service” and “To the defender of free Russia”, author of the books “Boris Yeltsin: from dawn to dusk” and “The men’s talk”, met with veterans of the state security service, the MIA and FSS of the RF, as well as scientists, entrepreneurs and leaders of the Nizhny Novgorod private security industry.

 

The veterans’ organizations were represented by 28 people, including:

• I.I.Kladnitsky – major-general of the police reserve, chevalier of the Honor order and the order of Courage. Since the year of 1989 for twelve years he had been directing in the Volga-Vyatka regional Department for combating organized crime, participant of military operations in the North Caucasus.
• V.V.Filin – major-general of the Committee of the state security.
• V.F.Timofeev – retired colonel, president of the Union of veterans of the state security (UVSS) of the Russian Federation.
• N.N.Shuvalov – an honorary security officer, Chairman of the Board of the Union of veterans of the state security for Nizhny Novgorod region;
• E.V.Krupnikov, the MIA officer, had been working for a long time as Deputy Chief of the DCOC of Nizhny Novgorod region, chevalier of the order of Courage, Deputy Chairman of the Administration of the Union of veterans of the state security for Nizhny Novgorod region;
• O.A.Kolobov – full Member (academician) of the Academy of political sciences of Russia, honorary worker of the Russian Higher School, honored scientist of Russia, honored Professor of the Nizhny Novgorod State University;
• P.V.Kovalev – Member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council at the Russian MIA, General Director of the Association “Berkut”;
• V.A.Raisky – founder of the PSE Business Security Agency “Vityaz-NN” Ltd.;
• A.V.Sidorenko – Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Academy of Security “Berkut”;

The meeting took place in the main office of the Association of guard and legal companies “Berkut” and was devoted to the issues of further perfection of work of the veterans’ organizations of the state security and the MIA, using the practical experience of veterans of the Committee of the State Security (FSS) and the MIA in the activities of private security structures.

Besides, Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov told about his work on a new book “Boris Yeltsin: from dawn to dusk. Afterwords” and answered numerous questions of the audience about historical events of the “Yeltsin’s era”, in which Alexander Vasilievich took the most direct part.

P.V.Kovalev informed Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov about the main directions and results of activities, as well as prospects of development of the Association of guard and legal companies “Berkut”, where currently more than 3000 employees work, including a large number of former law enforcement officers. The Association “Berkut” operates in 105 cities across the country.

The investment structure of the Association is focused on the unconditional implementation of its development strategy and improving the quality of security services and includes priority funding:

1. Improving the professional level of all categories of the Association staff at the Academy of Security “Berkut”, which today is one of the leading educational institutions of Russia. More than 165,000 people used its services in various areas of academic work. 
2. Development of the Association social infrastructure, aimed at:

-         Creation of comfortable conditions of work for employees;

-         Staff motivation and prevention of employees’ turnover by strictly observance of social obligations to workers.

1. Continued implementation of the Program of charitable activities of the Association.
2. Improving the quality of security services through the accelerated development of the technical component of ensuring security of the protected objects, using modern information technologies.

P.V.Kovalev, as Member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council at the Russian MIA, informed the audience about the activity of the Federal Coordination Council, as well as the main directions of cooperation between private security structures of the Volga Federal District.

Then the participants of the meeting visited the Unified Duty Department of Nizhny Novgorod private security organizations. Its head, V.V.Degtev, familiarized them with the organization and results of its work, the experience in organizing the cooperation of private security organizations with the MIA bodies for prevention and suppression of offences and crimes.

Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Academy of Security “Berkut” A.V.Sidorenko familiarized the guests with the training facilities and organization of professional training of private security guards and advanced training of leaders of private security organizations at the Academy of Security “Berkut”.

Next, the guests with great interest got acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of private security. They emphasized that the establishment and work of the Museum was one of the most important forms of work on improving the image of private security and prestige of the profession of private security guards.

  

Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov made a note in the Book of honorable guests of the Museum and deposited his new book “Boris Yeltsin: from dawn to dusk. Afterwords” with his gift inscription to the museum of private security.

During the visit of the museum of private security, President of the Union of veterans of the state security (UVSS) of the Russian Federation V.F.Timofeev handed the Medal “For active citizenship and patriotism” to P.V.Kovalev.

V.F.Timofeev drew attention of the audience to the fact that on the obverse of the medal there was the monument to the patriots of the Russian Land – Minin and Pozharsky on the background of the St.Vasiliy Blazhenny Cathedral. Exactly the same monument was set in Nizhny Novgorod on the square of National unity, under the walls of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, where in 1612 the Nizhny Novgorod home guard was formed. This unique fact is a symbol of the unity of our country, high patriotism of its citizens, the role and importance of Nizhny Novgorod region in the past, present and future of Russia.

The Medal “For active citizenship and patriotism” is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation for a great personal contribution to the work on patriotic education, manifestation of patriotism in public, service and employment activities and for active citizenship.

President of the Union of veterans of the state security (UVSS) of the Russian Federation V.F.Timofeev emphasized that the awarding of that prestigious award was recognition of special merit of P.V.Kovalev in the field of ensuring security to the residents of Nizhny Novgorod, increasing social responsibility of the private security business, using the rich practical experience of the state security veterans, MIA and FSS of Russia in the activities of private security organizations.

Summarizing of the meeting was held in an informal atmosphere in a corporate café of the Association “Berkut”, during which Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov, according to numerous requests of the audience, spoke in detail about the historical events, a direct participant of which he was.

Alexander Vasilievich Korzhakov handed his new book “Boris Yeltsin: from dawn to dusk. Afterwords” with his nominal author's note to each participant of the meeting.

Then, for three hours there was a substantive conversation on the issues of further improving the work of veterans’ organizations, forms and methods of using the practical experience of veterans of the CSS (FSS), MIA and Federal Security of Russia in the activities of private security structures.
