In the wake of the scandal in the “Pyatyorochka” store – security guards are supposed to be checked for alcohol and drugs every two weeks

It is offered to oblige private security guards to undergo medical examination once in two weeks. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber on security Dmitry Chugunov. According to his words, the Public Chamber will discuss this idea in the near future, after that the bill can be prepared. Chief narcologist of the Ministry of health Evgeny Bryun thinks that medical examination of security guards should be performed daily.

The initiative of Chugunov is connected with the emergency, occurred on June 7th in the supermarket “Pyatyorochka” on the Stavropol Street. According to the MIA opinion, the security guard, suspecting a seven-year children of a theft of the ice cream, without explanation, struck the schoolboy with the electro shocker. According to witnesses, the man was in an inadequate state.

According to the words of Chugunov, heads of private security enterprises should regularly, at least twice a week, conduct medical examinations of employees, as well as checks for alcohol and drugs. “This will help to keep employees in good shape”.

According to his words, private security companies can sign agreements on a regular examination with medical organizations. “If security companies are interested in their employees to be on duty perfectly, they should engage independent expert communities, which will come and inspect the activities of enterprises on the efficiency”, - said Chugunov.

Chief narcologist of the RF Evgeny Bryun thinks that it is necessary to conduct medical examinations every day.

However, Bryun recognized that daily inspections can cost too expensive for private security organizations. “One way or another, employers must keep track of their employees and in case of any suspicion conduct examination”, - he explained.

We note that today examinations of security guards are conducted once a year. Member of the Commission of the Moscow city Duma on security Alexander Semennikov believes that employers must take control over that process. According to Semennikov, heads of private security companies leads poor work on their staff. “Security guards allow themselves much of what is prohibited by the law, for example, to watch someone or use special means”, - he explained.

Meanwhile, many directors of private security companies think that regular medical examinations lead to additional and unwanted financial burden for private security companies.
