IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD EMPLOYEES OF THE ASSOCIATION “BERKUT” RECEIVED GRATITUDE FROM THE METROPOLITAN OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD AND ARZAMAS

The office of the Association of guard and legal companies “Berkut” was visited by Priest Father Iliya (Trushkin) – Senior Priest of the Nizhny Novgorod Cathedral in honor of Saint Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky.

On behalf of and by personal instruction of Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy he expressed his sincere gratitude to the staff of the Association of guard and legal companies “Berkut” for providing the mass Orthodox celebrations.

On the night of January, 7^th Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy performed the festive Christmas divine service in the Nizhny Novgorod Cathedral in honor of Saint Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky.

Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev, Chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Evgeny Lebedev, Minister of Education in the region Sergey Naumov, Minister of Social Policy of the region Artem Kavinov and numerous parishioners prayed in the church.

On the night of January, 19^th in the great feast of The Baptism of Christ (Epiphany), in the Nizhny Novgorod Cathedral in honor of Saint Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky there was performed the festive divine Liturgy. The worship was led by Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy.

More than 3,000 believers took part in the Orthodox celebrations.

To ensure security of believers during the festive Christmas worship, Divine Liturgy and other events, held in the Cathedral, the rural dean of Kanavinsky district Archpriest Sergiy appealed to the leadership of the Association of guard and legal companies “Berkut”.

This appeal by the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church to the staff of the Association “Berkut” on the involvement of its employees to ensure security during such a large-scale event was a logical continuation of the old, already become traditional, their parterships.

Confident and professional actions of the employees of the Association “Berkut” are encouraged systematically by the leadership of Nizhny Novgorod churches.

In 2012 the rector of the Church of Alexander Nevsky Archpriest Sergiy donated the icon of reverend Saint Serafim Sarovsky to the Museum of private security, established in the Association “Berkut”, in honor of the 20^th anniversary of private security and in appreciation of Nizhny Novgorod security guards for exemplary performance of their duties.  

For ensuring security during major Orthodox celebrations in 2013 – 2014 Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy repeatedly expressed his sincere gratitude to the employees of the Association “Berkut” for working professionalism and reliability.

On October 3^th, 2013 the rural dean of Kanavinsky district Archpriest Sergiy sent to General Director of the Association “Berkut” P.V.Kovalev a Certificate of Appreciation for exemplary ensuring security during the Divine Liturgy, which was performed by Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy, and donated to the collective of the Association the icon of Saint Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky.

Leaders of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church during the Orthodox celebrations in January 2015 were convinced once again of the correctness of their choice – actions of private security guards of the Association “Berkut” on ensuring security to believers and the church were notable for its reliability, clarity, confidence and professionalism. In addition, taking into account the specific tactics for the protection of the events of such level of complexity, the actions of guards, stayed on the territory of the church, provided rapid response teams and reserve force, equipped with modern means of transport, means of communication and equipment.

In the opinion of leaders of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Divine Liturgy and other events in the Cathedral were held in a calm atmosphere. This means that the Department of Security of the Association “Berkut” has managed to create the environment, where criminal elements, whose attention is always attracted to such mass events, didn’t even have a thought to violate the parishioners’ safety and the integrity of Orthodox shrines. Therefore, the words "held in a calm atmosphere” are the highest assessment to professionalism of the private security and level of its organization.

To ensure reliable operation of the employees during the events of the Russian Orthodox Church of such level, the Department of Security of the Association “Berkut” makes a detailed analysis of various options for the possible development of the situation in the place of celebrations, clearly defines areas of security and control, as well as practices actions of the security guards during the event depending on the current situation.

Particular attention is paid to organization of interaction with the Church staff and the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church in the place of mass stay of parishioners, as well as with the MIA bodies and personal security of Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region V.P.Shantsev and other VIP-persons participating in the event.

To perform such difficult, but honorable tasks, the best employees of the Association are sent, after a detailed instruction and practicing different options in the course of ensuring security to parishioners.

P.V.Kovalev in reply, expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church for the high evaluation of the work of the Association staff. Herewith he emphasized that the employees of the Association consider their participation in ensuring security of Orthodox shrines and churches as a high honor for them and manifestation of trust of parishioners and all residents of Nizhny Novgorod to the private security community.

Priest Father Iliya Trushkin – Senior Priest of the Nizhny Novgorod Cathedral in honor of Saint Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky during his visit met with Director of the Academy of Security “Berkut” N.V.Antifieva and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Academy A.V.Sidorenko.

The meeting was a work in nature and dedicated to improving the quality of training of guards, sent by the Association “Berkut” to ensure security of Orthodox churches. There was established a number of joint practical training-methodical events, taking into account specifics of protection of these objects.

Priest Father Iliya (Trushkin) visited the corporate café “Berkut”. Acquainted with its work, he emphasized that providing employees of the Association with free lunches (in 2014 – more than 12 500) was a right and godly thing in the best Orthodox traditions.
