To inspect passengers and their luggage at bus stations, railway stations and airports now will be carried out not only by the police, but private security guards also. Last week the Government Decree entered into force that clarifies the way of PSCs’ certification in order to be allowed to carry out personal inspection of passengers and provide safety at transport facilities.
The new document has determined specific requirements to private security companies that will work at bus stations, railway stations and airports.
According to the Decree, PSCs can get admission to provide transport security if they have a qualified staff, specially equipped premises and technical facilities.
To get permission of working in the airport or at bus, railway stations, a private security organization must submit an application to the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport and attach the documents to it, confirming the qualification of employees, as well as the license for private security activities. In addition, there can be needed copies of constituent documents or financial statements. Within 30 days, experts will give the answer.
All companies, which get a positive conclusion of Supervisory bodies, will be noted down in special registers. They will be available on the website of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport. They will contain such information as the company name, address, certificate number and date of its receipt.
Meanwhile, independent experts emphasize that the work of security services at railway stations need to be significantly improved.
By the way, not only heads of private security companies will be responsible for actions of accredited private security guards at railway stations and airports, but also those, who give them a work permit.
