In the Public Chamber there was held a round table on the theme: “The place and role of private security organizations in providing security at the objects of the transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation. Federal law №16-FZ “On transport security”.
The meeting was attended by: members of the Federation Council, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, large security organizations, experts of relevant non-governmental organizations, about 45 people altogether. The participants discussed the Federal law № 15 of February 3rd, 2014, according to which there should be formed a system of measures for protection of the transport complex against acts of illegal interference, including terrorism-related.
During presentations there were announced the most acute problems, associated with the law, but representatives of the expert community and representatives of the government authorities didn’t come to the consensus.
The expert community of the Non-state Security Service believes that security of the transport system requires consolidated efforts of not only public authorities and law enforcement agencies, but the non-governmental security sector also, as well as civil society institutions.
