22 July in Nizhny Novgorod there was large Summer Festival of Street Culture SNICKERS® URBANиЯ. Competitions of graffitist, hip-hoppers, bi-boys, scaters and rollers have existed for six years already.

The cities, taking part in the competition are traditional: Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, St. Petersburg and Moscow. At the final festival there were announced the cities - leaders of the competition for the title Capital SNICKERS® URBANиЯ 2007, and also the best city in 5 nominations: best street-sport city, best hip-hop, best brake-dance, best art-city SNICKERS® URBANиЯ — 2006.

Away from this, this year the URBAN SOUND contest among young music groups took place. Everybody could take part in this contest. At the result of preliminary contest three groups were chosen. Group-the winner got an opportunity to show its solo program to the public in its own city.

The group-triumphant had the title of the best URBAN-group and an opportunity to record a song and make a video clip that would be broadcasted on the MUS TV.

Together with the Festival starts the First annual URBANиЯ TOUR” magazine. It is created on the basis of real stories and tells about URBAN-culture.

The Head of the Department of the Internal Affairs was very grateful to the “Berkut” Security Association for organization and maintenance of the protection of law and order at the territory of Nizhegorodsky district.
